The Project

Can art help make our future more sustainable, inclusive and livable?

This question is at the heart of CREATE PURPOSE, a European cooperation project bringing together partners from Germany, Greece and Romania.

Inspired by the values of the New European Bauhaus — sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion — the project brings young people and artists together to turn these values into something tangible: lived experience and everyday practice.

Art made together, not for people

Nine artists from Germany, Greece and Romania form three international, interdisciplinary teams, working in music, design, and theatre and scenic movement. Each team works with around 50 young people aged 15–30 — not as an audience, but as active co-creators of the entire artistic process.

The artistic residencies take place between May and August 2027 in all three partner countries. The works created together are presented to the public at local cultural festivals.

Beyond the festivals

The artworks stay visible in public space and on our digital platforms, so that a wider audience can experience the visions young people have created for their communities.
